concept & vision
c-Home Hudson is the first single-family home developed by LOT-EK as part of the c-Home series, a line of prefabricated homes that upcycles shipping containers into high-quality residential architecture. Conceived as a repeatable and adaptable model, c-Home Hudson rethinks the single-family house as a compact, efficient system, balancing architectural clarity, environmental responsibility, and contemporary living
design & architecture
the house is composed of six 40-foot shipping containers, stacked on two levels to create a clean and rational volume. Large glass openings carve into the container structure to bring abundant natural light, cross-ventilation, and visual continuity between interior and exterior spaces. Expansive decks extend the living areas toward both front and back yards, while an exterior stair connects the ground level to a planted green roof, reinforcing the relationship between architecture and landscape
program & use
the ground level hosts an open and fluid living space, combining kitchen, dining, and living areas into a single continuous volume oriented toward outdoor decks. The upper level accommodates two independent bedroom suites, each accessed by its own stair and equipped with a full bathroom and walk-in closet, allowing flexibility of use and privacy. The organization supports multiple living scenarios, from families to shared occupancy, while maintaining a clear separation between public and private spaces
impact & significance
as the inaugural model of the c-Home series, c-Home Hudson establishes a new approach to residential construction: modular, scalable, and rooted in adaptive reuse. By transforming industrial shipping containers into a refined domestic environment, the project demonstrates how prefabrication and sustainability can converge with architectural ambition. c-Home Hudson is not a one-off house, but a prototype, designed to evolve, multiply, and redefine the future of accessible, high-quality housing
